As a child, I would be given an assignment: one week, to be handed in the following week, after I had gone to the library, trawling reference books. I would also ask my parents or other adults who may have knowledge of any particular area for their assistance in the task.

I noticed a big difference when my own children were set homework. The small town where we lived had what I would say was a part time library. It was not always open when the children arrived home from school. They were, however, given assignments which involved research and perhaps two days in which to do this task. Tutors were making an assumption that all the youngsters would have access to the internet through a computer at home and would therefore be able to research speedily.

Search engines became an element of our daily lives. Medieval musical instruments, well known sports men, historical data, were all searched for. Occasionally because searches then were somewhat hit-and-miss, due to wrong search engine placement, it was difficult to find the specific information which was needed. An seo company could, in the early years, hide lots of text in their code which would ensure their client’s web site came up in the first 10 search results, but often this site had no relevance to the searcher’s needs and the experience could be annoying for the searcher.

Search engines today have become much more refined and search engine positioning is based on a number of factors. It is no longer ok to hide lots of text in a web page in order to have a good Search Engine Placement. The web site needs to have different layers of useful information to hit a top space in search engine positioning.

Businesses and other web site owners today look to employ an SEO Company which can help them in making sure they are getting the relevant hits on their web site without confusing the searchers. Kids can today, therefore, be more certain that when they are undertaking research for projects, they will find appropriate information much more speedily than ever before.

It is now the case that in the UK the majority of children do have access to a computer in their house, in public libraries or in school, teachers are much more relaxed about expecting this rapid turnaround in assignments from youngsters.

Mothers and fathers and other adults can rest easy knowing that children have a method to research and find any information they require for an assignment efficiently. The kids only need to be sure that from the information they have researched they make notes and then write their assignment, using their own words, to be sure they are not unwittingly accused of plagiarism.
